Christianity is very well preached bt not so well practised.
There is certainly some practice. Yet, it doesn't justify the amt of time spent on church-going.
Once a week of corporate worship to God, 1 cell group, 1 ministry, with daily worship of God and daily practice of the Bible is sufficient.
According to Jesus in Matthew 7, the end of knowledge is practice, practice, and more practice. Unfortunately, the state of the church (esp. traditionaly ones) today is end seems to be on accuracy of knowledge, knowledge, and more knowledge.
Therefore, whn u look at some ppl, their knowledge is impressive! Yet, whn u get to know the person, the behaviour is no different fm a hooligan. i.e. Chrisitian Hooligans.
Of course, there'r true Saints in the church as well.
God is real. The Bible is His word. Yet, many churches have too much church politics that waste your time.
Some do good deeds and behave well in church becos dey wan2 be voted as Deacons and Elders of the church. It strengthens their status and position in the community.
When u don't need help, dey wan2 'help' (dey hav their own agenda). Whn u need help, dey don't wan2 help ... (it's not in line with thier agenda, goals, and plans).
Nevertheless, there'r genuine ppl around.
Tithing n PledgingTithing was mentioned in the Bible.
But whr was 'pledging' (declare how much u'll give 2 the church 4 say, 1 year) mentioned in the Bible? Whatever reasons the church says r human reasons. They'r not Biblical.
Worried abt funds?
The Bible said, "Don't worry abt what u shall eat, what u shall wear, or what u shall drink."
Need 2 do planning?
The church can plan basing on estimates and past history. The church need 2 live BY FAITH!
Give, Give, GiveWhen this church needs money, dey keep asking u 2 give freely. When people r in need, dis church doesn't give freely even when asked.
This church says when u give, u'r giving 2 God. That's true.
Dis church doesn't remember that whn it gives 2 ppl, it's also giving 2 God!
'As much as u'v done 2 these little ones of mine, u'v done it 4 me.'! ......................Book of Matthew
Infant 'Baptism'Whr did the Bible ever speak of Infant 'Baptism'?
Was Jesus ever baptised as an infant?
Some churches hv great arguments on this - even by PhD's in Theology. Yet, dey'r nt convincing. The reasons r just nt Biblical.
Da Vincci CodeJesus was married?
John was a homosexual? Dan Brown must be kidding.
Gospel of Judas (year-HOO-der)
If Jesus told Judas to betray him, why did Judas need to commit suicide?
This Gospel is intriguing and needs to be studied further to find out what message it was really conveying.
"Vote by Faith!"During church elections of Elders and Deacons, christians are often told to do that. i.e. simply say 'yes'.
If that's the case, the meaning of voting becomes meaningless. When it comes to voting, the correct attitude is this: "VOTE BY WISDOM"
A chinese saying goes, "When the upper beam is not straight, the lower beam will be crooked."
When a church has the wrong leaders in place, the wrong leaders will lead the people astray...
SubmissionLeaders of a church want people to submit to them. Often Romans 13 is quoted.
However, leaders forgot that the Bible also said, "Submit to ONE ANOTHER out of reverence for CHRIST."
Submission is not a one-way traffic. It's mutual.
What's submission? It's meeting the needs of one another in different forms.
Husbands need submission in the form of obedience from the wife. So, wives, do obey your husbands unless they're obviously wrong. Wives need submission in the form of love from husbands. So, husbands, never forget to frequently affirm and demonstrate your love to your wives.
Leaders of churches need obedience. So, obey unless you think they're going in the wrong direction. Members have intellectual, emotional, and financial needs to be met, are the leaders submiting to them in this way?
One-way submission can make tyrants out of leaders. Two-way submission is Biblical. c-;
